Should You Charge Your Mac on the Right or Left?

This week our friends over at Macsales.com published a collection of research from across the web that takes a look at the differences between charging your Mac from the left side or the right side. 

If you have a newer MacBook Pro with Thunderbolt 3 ports (similar to USB-C), you can choose to either connect your AC adapter charging cable  on the right or left side of your laptop. All of the ports on your Mac will charge the computer, which is great!

However, a growing collection of evidence suggests that charging your Mac from the left side causes the Mac operating system to work harder, which has a negative impact on performance and can cause over heating. Unfortunately many of us are conditioned to plug our computers in on the left side, as this was the side where the magnetic MagSafe charger was located. But, if you’re having issues with your Mac running hot, or running slow, try to break the habit and swap sides when charging. Many folks find the performance issues are resolved!
